T-Works T-Shirts

When one thinks of designing a t-shirt, it seems like an exercise in graphic design. However, this set of t-shirts was closer to a stint in community building, encouraging a feeling of pride amongst the stakeholders and designing with a sense of understated elegance across rugged environments.

It would be futile to not talk about the wearers of the t-shirts before talking about the t-shirts themselves. In this case it is the team housed within T-Works - India's largest prototyping facility. This team consisted of folks from all walks of life, working across roles from machine operators to workshop managers, designers and engineers, directors and accountants and more. All of these individuals were subject to different social and corporate hierarchies.

For some, it was mandated to wear it daily. These individuals took pride in their uniform and viewed it as a symbol of their own success since it indicated that they worked in a big company. These users were also those who would be found working in rough environments around hard materials and heavy machines - prone to staining and dirtying their garments.

While for others whose roles gave them the freedom to wear what they pleased, prioritized fashion and comfort in their attire.

Thus, these t-shirts were designed in three colors of varying shades - the dark ones more suited for those jobs prone to staining and the lighter shades designed to look fashionable with a wide range of outfit combinations.
